Navigating the Unknown An Immediate Guide When Experiencing the Loss of Your Baby Amie Lands 9780986196997 Books Reviews
I should first say that my wife wrote this book. With that being said, without her writings I would not have made it through our loss. I can only hope that when you need a book to help you with your loss, that you or someone who loves you gets you this book.
Navigating the Unknown is an incredible resource and tool for bereaved parents that helps serve as a guide during the most difficult time of their lives. Amie shares details and resources on all aspects of 'how to' when knowing your baby will, or has died; postpartum changes/healing, dealing with family and friends, arranging funeral/burial services, and re-entry into the normal world. Easy to read and easy to apply as needed to your unique situation. This book is heartbreaking, yet filled with hope for those who experience the unimaginable loss of a child.
"Navigating the Unknown" is a book that all parents should have access to when navigating the death of their baby. This practical guide is a light during times of darkness. Amie does a beautiful job exposing the unknowns, which drastically decreases anxiety that accompanies these situations. I only wish I had this book when my son died.
This book is a very practical, helpful guide for parents that have lost a child. I wish I would have read this book before experiencing delivering a stillborn baby -- I think it would be good for all expecting parents to read this in case something happens I think this book would allow them to make decisions such as taking photos, spending as much time with their baby as possible -- I wish I would have spent more time with my baby and if I would have read this earlier I may have done that. Thank you for sharing your experience and helping others find their way.
Amie is an amazing writer. Her words will help guide you through the most difficult times you will ever face. There are different sections for all different scenarios and you can figure out what you want to read or not read. I hope that parents will not need this book but highly recommend it if they do. It is also helpful for friends and family to read so they can understand what the bereaved parents are going through, the decisions they make, and how they can help.
This book. I am so grateful that Amie followed her calling and wrote to this heartbreaking subject. She tackled so many difficult subjects in this honest handbook. I wish I had this 16 years ago when I lost my beautiful son to stillbirth. It would have helped me navigate the endless decisions I had to make. It covers so many different topics that a parent faces on this grief journey. Thank you thank you thank you, Amie. This book is a gentle companion and much needed in the miscarriage/infant loss world.
Amie has put together an extraordinary and supportive resource for grieving parents and families. She helps parents navigate through overwhelming and unthinkable experiences associated with losing their infant, and offers hope that there will be joy in life again down the road. Lots of down-to-earth, practical information and suggestions. She also has compiled a comprehensive set of supportive resources for each parent, as well as children in the family. This book was a critical find for my family. So appreciated!
