This book is a breath of fresh air and the best kept secret on Amazon. I bought it, not knowing exactly what to expect but with the turn of each page, it drew me further and further in. The New Covenant is not like Old. The Old Covenant produces slavery to sin. The New Covenant frees us from slavery to sin. One is bad news and the other is good news. A major problem in Christianity is that we don’t know what to do with Moses and the law/covenant he was given, so we mix parts of it together with the New Covenant and the result is a message of moralism, legalism, and self-righteousness.Clash of the Covenants is a valuable resource for keeping the Old Covenant out of the New as we read and apply the New Testament Scriptures and Mike Kapler’s style of writing will invite you further into the conversation. I give it 5 stars and 2 enthusiastic thumbs up!

This book is interesting and informative. It makes clear the difference of the old from the new covenant. It has been so interesting learning that Jesus lived under the law and that the New Covenant did not start with Matthew 11. If you have grown up in the traditional church system, you need this book to hear the truth you were never taught. There is so much more to living as a child of God under the new covenant and this book makes clear the difference between the old and new.
This is the best book I have read about the difference between the old covenant and the new. It helped clear up some confusion on my part regarding what appeared to be some conflicting scripture verses. I have struggled with legalism most of my life with glimpses of freedom here and there; as the old spiritual puts it, sometimes up and sometimes down. But God is faithful, and I am thankful.
If you have ever picked up the Bible and read the "words written in red" and scratched your head wondering, "What did Jesus mean by that?" this book will answer all of your questions and have you perplexed no more! What you WILL find yourself doing as you read each chapter is praising God one minute for the wonderful New Covenant and laughing the next as author, Mike Kapler, delivers some very witty one liners and and amusing analogies! Mike Kapler makes what should be theology 101 a whole lot of fun!
Are you tired and worn out for trying to perform for God or other believers? Has your Christianity become stale or dormant? Has the church scared or scarred you? There is a way of rest and relief. Check it out. Well worth the read.
Clash of the Covenants is a fantastic book. I have been a Christian for 27 years and for all but the last 3 have spent my life in a state of covenant confusion. My growth was stunted due to bad teaching and a misunderstanding of the gospel. Clash of the Covenants has torn the veil between confusion and clarity. The truth of the gospel is made clear as the author uses proper context to expose false ideas and point to Christ as life. The Clash of the Covenants will help you see clearly the difference between the old and new covenants and how the two do not mix. We are under the new!
Most people do not understand the difference between the Old Covenant and New Covenant. Most churches NEVER teach this! I never heard about it! Now that I know the difference it has made a major difference in my life and beliefs! Churches just preach the bible as if it is all the same...it is not!
I have listened to growingingrace.org podcast for quite some time now,so when i saw Mike wrote a book i couldnt wait to read it.The main theme of the book is how the covenents clash with each other when your mixing law with grace.Every church or Bible study etc.ive attended teaches the Bible like that so its no wonder most people have no idea where they really stand with God.You will never understand Grace or have any long term peace with God if you dont see the contrast in the covenents.You may think you understand this but I emphasis that most church going people Ive ever talked to have any knowledge of this.I thank Mike and Joel for their podcast and thank Mike for writing the book if it wasnt for you guys I would of never of understood completely what Christ accomplished for me.The epilogue was so good I wish I would of read that first.
